This may or may not apply to you but though I would pass it along. If you are going to use async i/o on file systems (instead of raw) there is a couple of problems you should be aware of under 2.6. If you have access to Sunsolve look up Sun bug # 4222164. There is a problem with the kernel kaio module. We got a test module which seems to fix the problem described in the bug report. Don't know if it has been incorporated into a patch yet. We are currently having some other isssue with async i/o that seem to be related to Oracle. We are running 7.3.4.? so the problem may or may not effect you. Oracle suggested we upgrade to 8. I know I didn't give much detail on problems but if you need more info e-mail me as the problems involve some lenghty descriptions.
