Thank you. I saw these figures in the 8i/8.05 docs but is confusing 
becuse they speak of RAM for installation. W

hat I am looking for is how much more 8i takes in memory overhead (not 
countinf shared pool size(db block buffers). I am going to install Oracle 
8.05 (or 8i) on my laptop for testing/development purposes. I have been 
uisng 8.05 on 128 MB and know how much it will take (not that much as 
long as I don't do any heavy work), for example I have Oracle started and 
it has only allocated about 20MB (idle). If 8i would allocale let say 96 
MB when idle I would probably install 8.05 instead. My laptop has 128 MB 
RAM so it will run but I don't want it to up to much memory.
