RMAN resync problem

I have the following problem on an Oracle 8.0.5 64bit instance on HP-UX 11.00 box

I set up the catalog database for RMAN and registered the target database. I have tried to backup a test instace to disk and it worked fine. Restore worked fine too.
Report and list command work fine.

But when I try to resync the catalog it always gives me the following error:

What does it mean?
Any suggestion?
