We have a Sun Ultra 10/333MHz with 512 MB main memory and Solaris 7 3/99 Server software.
I am trying to do a test installation of Oracle 8i Enterprise server for a week now, but it does not work. The parameters in /etc/system are set up, swap space is large enough and the whole installation process with runInstaller from CDROM goes well until in the middle of the database creation I get an error "ORA 01012: not logged in". The same happens if I try to set up another database with dbassist or try to startup with svrmgrl manually.

I have gone through the whole installation several times and wiped the system yesterday to reinstall on an empty system, but i still get the same effect.

Any idea where the error might be?
