Add log group member??!!

1. startup mount
2. alter database add logfile member 'file-name' to group 4;
3. alter database open;

Then I check v$logfile, it shows the status of the new log file is 'invalid'. (Oracle 8.0.5 for NT)

What does it mean? Anything wrong?

How many different values in this 'status' column? what's the meaning of them?
