Security ?

I have a unix box on the net (not t10.net box) and have oracle installed with the listener running.

I connect to it from work to learn/test on it. I was wondering if there are any known hacks or other crap that I should know about.

Is this not a good idea to have a oracle box the net? I don't really have anything important on it but would like to know of any possible threats.

Any ideas would be helpfull.
