sqlplus linux, memory leak?

I'm trying to determine if sqlplus or some other aspect of Oracle has a memory leak on Linux. Basically, I have observed that my free memory goes down by large gobs once I run sqlplus and perform some fairly intensive operations (however, they are only selects). Even after I quit sqlplus, that memory is not freed. After I do this several times during the day, I end up with a piddling 2 or 3 MB free, and I seem to have to restart the machine to reclaim that memory.

It could be a few other things on my system, but it so far looks like sqlplus to me.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes, workarounds?

Environment: RedHat Linux 5.2 i686, oracle + sqlplus release 8.0.5.0.0, 128 MB Ram. Also using ConText cartridge. Received on Mon May 17 1999 - 12:01:45 CDT
