Hi
I am new to Oracle. Right now, I want to setup an Oracle server as a database server in one computer (run under Windows NT 4.0 Server). So, the web server (another computer running under Windows NT 4.0 Server using IIS) can access to this database server to post the data in the internet.

I have some questions on how to setup the database server.

  1. Do I need to have at least two computers to setup the Oracle database, one computer is used for Managed Server and the other computer is used as Repository and Console?
  2. Is it possible to let the web server use CGI or ASP to access the database server to get information and post it on the web? If so, what program do i need to install on the web server and database server?

Thanks for your help

Edmond
