the guy is an obvious jerk, but jerks need help too. Buddy, be nice and peole will help you out right away be a jerk and get liitle help.

You need to denormaize your orginal table. I wouldn't give you the SQL for being a jerk. i asked the exact same question, got several responses in a few hours.

but here is hint, use DECODE, no need for joins and it is doable in one statement.
