HELP I need some answers on Oracle

Okay, I have been trying to get some answer from Oracle and I have not had any consistent luck.

I need the following if it exists. A Linux based Oracle 8 configuration that will allow a backup, roll over, mirror, "what ever name you want" server that will act as an automatic backup to a primary server in case the primary goes down or is busy. I would like it to be scalable if possible so that when traffic increases I can just add another machine.

I admit to being new to Oracle so forgive my ignorance of their terminology. I am trying to catch up but I don't have a lot of time to play with.
