I thought that when you want to go PARALLEL you have to consider
locking mechanisms at hardware level.
That is if you have 4 pentium running in parallel and sharing memory,
there must be a way to lock data in turn for each processor. (DLM)
At Oracle level, there is the same mechanism, hence "pinging"
blocks....
On the other hand, Linux is supposed to be written by nethelpers.
Are there advanced enough Linux programmers to garantee
mission-critical Oracle Parallel databases??
I remember a time not so long ago when Linux did not even have a
decent lp daemon.
But why not?
I'd be glad to know the answer.
I mean it's more a question on zeroing on the right hardware platform
than on the right Linux distribution.
