Apart from the limit on the number of concurrent users, differences are primarily related to its use as a file server: user authentication (as domain server), setting up certain kinds of sharing (for Mac, e.g.). If you aren't using the NT machine as a file server, and the number of developers isn't a problem, ws should be fine. In fact, I read a recommendation (in some Oracle book or another) that you run Oracle on an NT machine set up as an _application_ server not a _file_ server.
