We recently upgraded to 8i (version 8.0.5) on Solaris 2.6. We encountered
several bugs which forced us to downgrade back to our original version,
8.0.5.1.
Our problems were in SQL-Loader, and in the Pro-C and Pro-COBOL pre-compilers.
I recommend that you do NOT go to version 8i, until it becomes more stable. However, version 8.0.5.1 works fairly well.
