Problems setting up 8i

I just received 8i and I thought to try it on our test machine first...

I installed it noting that unlike previous version it wouldnt install into the DEFAULT_HOME (C:\ORANT) where our existing 805 was so it ended up in C:\ORANT8i. I ran the migration assisntat at the end and migrated our 805 database

After connecting and being happy that all was Ok I decided to remove all the files and services related to 805 as they arent needed right?????????

Well that where the problem starts. First after finishing nothing now works. When I checked the new *.ora cfg files in the new 8i networks directory I found they contain no reference to the db unlike the version in the default_home. It seems that ther eare a bunch of files under the old 805 home that are still used/needed and its got me confused (and in a bit of a mess)

Also we run WebDB on this server so I removed it and tried to reinstall it under 8i but it wont install into the 8i home, I think because the WebDb uses the older 605 version of the installer and this is not compatible with 8i? I sthis correct.

What I am really getting at here is am I supposed to install 8i alongside 805 and leave all the 805 stuff intact even if i dont use it and I have migrated the 805 databse to 8i
