Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm no expert) but isn't the only real difference between NT servers and workstations is the number of open socket connections you can have... I'm not sure about the workstation... but I think it is around a hundred or maybe less.

So if your database server will work fine under that limitation, then it should be ok... but if you need more connections... you will be in trouble
