One computer that you did not mention that is the best for mission critical is
an Alpha computer running openVMS. A few of our clients have uptimes (without
booting) for one and a half years. We use the Alpha platform in steel mills
and glass furnaces where mission critical applications is a must!
They have tried Solaris; however, they're lucky if they keep the SUN box up for
a week without rebooting.
