Your problem is that you mix Multi-home capable tools (>= 8.0.4 AFAIR) with NON-milti-home capable tools.

The eonly way to get these installed on the same machine is to install the NON-multi-home capable tools FIRST and then at last Oracle8i 8.1.5 in a separate home.

Everything works fine when you follow these guidelines.
