OAS 4.0.7: How to maintain session?

I'm new to OAS. I have a question related to the session control in OAS. Do I have to use the owa_cookie package if I use the Transaction Service and enable the "Stateful" option in the Web Declarative Transactions form for a particular PL/SQL cartridge? Thanks in advance.
