Hi,

It's not in Oracle 7 (though I wrote one myself, and Thomas Kyte has published one in the newsgroup, which seems better to me), but it is in Oracle 8. As a customer support rep in the Netherlands years ago used to say: It's always in the next version!

The Oracle 8 package is called dbms_random or dbms_rand (from memory)
