Well I just checked it out today and you ae correct........
THERE IS NO JAVA VM in 8i
Its available as an add on only and as you say th price is pretty close to
the same as fro the original product. This has got to be the biggest stunt
ever pulled by Oracle.
Whats the i for in 8i if it actually has nothing. Godsake are there no
limits to Larry's greed. You now can upgrade to a product that is no
different from the one you have already got .... THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THIS
ONE WILL ACCEPT ADDON WHEN YOU BUY THEM.
Makes you feel there should be some law against this.... Biggest argument
for leaving M$ alone and not splitting them up is that the industry needs
them to keep people like Larry even remotely honest...
