Who told you that ?
That seems to be not true. I believe, that Oracle export/import tools use the same number formats on all big and little endian platforms, on 32-bit and 64-bit platforms as well. From my experience I may say that I've moved exports between NT, Solaris, SCO, HP-UX, AIX and some others with no problem...
