As with other DBMS software, Oracle may be falling from grace. It happened to DB2 when Oracle came along, it happened with IDMS when DB2 came along.

Mr. Gates looks well positioned to be the provider of the next 'got to have' enterprise DBMS software.

Oracle took a tumble today, which just may be the beginning of the end.
