Help: ORA-01534: rollback segment 'R01' doesn't exist

I recently set up my new Oracle 8.0.5 database and right as I was recreating some of the rollback segments the process died.

Now when I try and restart the database I get the message below:

ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 4775440 bytes
Fixed Size 48656 bytes
Variable Size 4235264 bytes
Database Buffers 409600 bytes
Redo Buffers 81920 bytes
Database mounted.
ORA-01534: rollback segment 'R01' doesn't exist

After which, any further attempts to do anything are followed by a 'Database not open' error.

I have tried all sorts of combinations of startups, exclusive, forced etc but no luck

What can I do short of recreating the database which already has a lot of data in it.

Thanks
