You have to have Sql*Net running. Set up a database alias using Sql*net,
then create a data source in the ODBC manager with that alias as the
connection string. Using ODBC Test is a nice, quick way of checking that it
is working.
I don't know if there are any other issues with 7.2.3 on HP-UX. But the above works with 7.3x on SCO.
