No problem. I (and not only I) have done it (or similiar) successfully many many times.

No need to do that. Full export does not include SYS schema objects, grants and properties.

Are they OK ? No corruption (for example by ASCII mode ftp) ? BTW, what do you mean by "[sits and]* nothing happens" ?
