Oracle 8 on linux is about twice as fast then oracle 8 on NT.

We used the same hardware on NT and LInux for our compare and the sqlloader was about twice as fast on linux then
on NT.
Intel P2 266mhz (dual pentium)
SCSI ultra white raid controller (4 disk of about 10 gig each) 256 Mb Ram
Redhat linux 5.2
Windows NT40 (no service pack)
Oracle 8.0.5
