Julia,
Problem with snapshots is they incur the overhea of SQL*Net. Also, they are done as a single transaction with a commit at the end. You will need rollback segments larger than the table at the target database.
Why can't you just export the tables? Much faster. you can even do it over SQL*Net if you want to.
