I had a similar problem with the official release of the product. I think there is a problem in one of the installation scripts. When the installer copies the files for SQL*Net it does not set the proper owner for 'tnslsnr' and its log files. Got to your $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory and do 'ls -l tns*'. You should see that this file is owned by root. Shut down the listener (kill -9 if you have to) and chown the file to oracle:dba. Go to the log directories under $ORACLE_HOME/network and make sure Oracle owns the logs as well (the easiest way to do it is to log in as root and issue 'chown -r oracle:dba $ORACLE_HOME). Once Oracle owns all the files start the listener process and your connection problem should be resolved.
