What about using some interface like Oracle Enterprise Manager to help you through the backups? That way, you can set up a backup job to run every night.  Even tho the database is using raw disk drives, you can still use the Oracle backup utilities (rman in oracle8) to back up the database. If you're looking at keeping the database up and running while you are doing the backup, the database must be in archivelog mode. Received on Mon Jan 25 1999 - 19:34:54 CST
