Hi Gurus:

I was wondering if somebody could summarize about the advantages I could get using
2 CPUs instead of 1 on a Digital Unix 4.0D machine running Oracle 7.3.2. Initially, we had just three databases running on this machine, but now we have 13 and sometimes I do see performance degradation. Sometimes, some process use 90% of the CPU for 2-3 minutes which brings all other process to a HALT literally. So, I was wondering that if I increase the # of CPUs to 2, would that make a big difference? Also, what other featuers of Oracle could I then use which I could not use because of 1 CPU.

Thanks a lot.
