Hi Karl, Basically you're asking a similiar question I had (that you tried to explain to me). Well anyway, in Oracle 7.3.x (I'm not sure in 8) "database administrators can maintain a duplicate copy of a database at a remote site, by using the archived redo logs of the primary database and applying them to the standby database by using the Standby Database feature."

I will e-mail you when I find out what is the steps/commands that will apply the archieved redo logs to your standby database.

Good Luck,
Satar
