    there might be an easier way but what I have done . I had to rebuild NT. I did so ,then reinstalled generic oracle (not as time comsuming as screwing around and hoping you get it right then replace
the paramerter file,controlfiles,pwdfiles,logfiles,db files to original locations. the key is the control files that tell oracle where the original locations are. Don,t forget there is a pwdorcl.ora file that is hidden (use attrib command ) it worked for me
