Polite and Visual Studio 6

I am trying to create a connection in MS Visual Studio 6 to Personal Oracle Lite 3.5 in order to use the Query Designer tool to help in some SQL syntax conversion. I continue to get the ever helpful "Unspecified Error" dialog. Anyone successfully doing this?
