Oracle8I and iFS - are files under database / transactional control

It's not clear to me from the Oracle docs so if anybody out there is
using 8I and iFS I's like to know if files in iFS can be easily
secured so that they can only be updated, moved, deleted under databse
control?



Any info appreciated.
