Oracle 8 and NT Workstation - HELP!

I have a laptop with NT Workstation installed. I want to load Oracle 8 so that I can use Oracle Designer 2000. I added NT Networking as well as the TCP/IP protocol to Windows but still am unable to get the Listener to work or get access to the TCP-Loopback Oracle service.

How do I configure NT correctly for the TCP/IP protocol? Soes the protocol need to be associated with a network adapter (which I'll never have since my laptop will never be connected to any network)? TCP/IP protocol in Win NT requires one to select either a hardwired connection or a modem connection to the network - but I will not have either of these so now I am at a loss. I have it temporarily assigned to my modem for lack of anywhere else to assign the protocol.

By the way, here are the listener error messages from the log:
