    A workstation should only be used for very limited reasons. Your license allows only 10 incoming connections. We use it for recovery of historical data that an engineer needs to analyze for a few days.

    A server should not be either a PDC or BDC and should not be used for other server tasks. Ours only runs oracle

    If you must put virus scanning software on, make sure you can tell the software to ignore the files containing tablespaces, trace files, log files and archive logs. (preferably the whole disk) HTH
