mirroring log files on raided drive?

Hi,

I have come into a shop after a previous dba and am wondering why logfiles are set up in groups with two members on a huge raided drive. This just seems like a lot of extra writing for no benefit. There is a current post on stale log files and using mirrored logs, and how that could impact an archivelog mode environment.

We don't run in that mode in this small server, mostly NT based, shop. Any insight on this setup would be welcome. Received on Sun Nov 29 1998 - 07:22:36 CST
