The svrmgrm is not longer available on Unix for Oracle8. It took me one week to discover it.
It took me an another week to believe it.

Not bad for a company that claimes to be a technology leader for databases. Force the customer to :

1. Buy a PC, buy WindowsNT (correct me if i am wrong, but i thing this should be from Microsoft) *g*
2. set up SQL*NET on this System
3. Set up a Product called "Enterprise Manager"

That is Oracle Promise :

With every Oracle Server sold on this world, you are forced to buy MicrosoftNT Server/Client ?. *lol*

What is the next step from Oracle ?

They force you to install Internet Explorer 4.0 ? They force you to install Microsoft's "Java" ? They force you to install <put in your favorite Microsoft Product> They force you to jump around and bark like a dog ? (<- This is for me the same as to install WindowsNT) *g*

Does the Chief know what is going on in his Company ? Has Oracle a secret contract with Bill Gates ?

Is it better to buy Microsoft NT with SQL-Server because you need only one Computer to manage your Database ?

What is going on ?
