Hi,

I am doing data migration from Oracle7 to Access97.

I have installed Oracle to Access migration tool from Oracle web site, it has built-in Oracle8 ODBC driver. Eventually I found it did not work for us and I wanted to uninstall the package and reinstall Oracle7 ODBC driver, so that I can still do VB programming to manually migrate the data.

However, when I used Oracle installer to remove all packages, I got some error messages saying

  permission denied: ociw32.dll

and while I was removing Required Support Files, I got:

It was not possible to find a value for the variables 'rdbms80' and 'nlsrt133' in '$ORACLE', it is therefore not possible to remove the Required Support File. Please restore the binding for 'rdbms80' and 'nlsrt33' in '$ORACLE'.

What does this mean ? I am not sure how to restore this binding. My instinct is to double there is something wrong with registry but could not figure it out.

I also tried to install Oracle7 ODBC driver on top it Oracle82Access migration tool. It aborted without any error messages.

Could anybody help me out ? I need to uninstall Oracle8 stuff and clearly install Oracle7 ODBC drivers.

   Thanks in advance.
