Personal Oracle 8 and Dev/2000

I have done a std install of PO8.

The supplied sqlplus 8 connects fine, no connect string required.

Then Dev/2k R2.1 (i.e. forms5)

But it won't connect without a connect string.

But what is the connect string when using PO8 under W95 standalone.

Am I missing something obvious here?
