Thanks for all your help.
 What I found worked (was hacking away cuz I wasn't patient enough to wait for a response) was simply removing all of the redo log files from the OS. When I had the logs there a zero byte files oracle complained about bad blocks. So, when I was able to successfully open (with resetlogs option) I also cycled the log writer through each of my three log groups to make sure oracle could see (and write) to them all.
Next time I test a recovery scenario I'll have to be more careful ;). -Jeremy
