Hi --

I am new at this DBA thing, having taken over for someone else. I see in
the Administrator Guide for Oracle7 there are various statistics available
in the table v$sysstat. I looked at them, and two of them -- 'session
connect time' (#13) and 'process last non-idle time' (#14) seem to vary
wildly (from +4.0e09 to -1.6e09) in a matter of seconds, each time a new
session is started. Am I missing something, or is there someplace that
these statistics are documented??? I have looked at the Oracle7 Server
Administrator's Guide without much luck.

Thanx in advance.
