Oracle Context Option - PDF Filter

We are currently using Oracle 7.3.4 Context Option on Solaris. We can filter and search on PDF files that contain only one column, but as soon as we try and index multi column pdf's it fails to index them.

The Oracle 7.3.4 documentation states the following:
>Limitations
>The PDF filter provided for the UNIX-based platforms
>does not support filtering multi-column documents or
>documents over approximately 1 Megabyte in size.
>It is provided primarily for evaluation purposes and
>should be used accordingly in production systems.

Oracle could not tell me when or if this has been fixed in Oracle 8. Can anyone help?
