I have NT Servers that I maintain using Oracle 8.0.4 remotely, which works
fine. They run 24X7 and have never crashed or caused a problem.
The most reliable is using NT RAS, which has never failed to work using a local modem. Using Oracle Enterprise manager, just about anything you could want to do can be run remotely no problem.
I have another NT 8.0 database I administer over the Internet; that mostly works but is slower and not really secure.
On rare occasions, I do have to get into NT itself and PC Anywhere is used for that. It is really buggy though, and hung the NT console once. Maybe a later version solves the problem but all remote access software I use for NT is buggy and I consider a last resort.
Fortunately, Oracle is so good at remote management, I rarely need PC Anywhere.
