Choosing a database for a DSS system (40-100G range)

Hi, I am trying to determine what kind of database/hardware I should use for a Decision Support System setup. I am thinking about using an external Crystal Report Info server (NT) to do report generation; so there won't be any real human users connecting to the database.

The data is in the range of 5-10G/table, about 5-10 tables in the database.

The SQLs will be lots of GROUP, SUM, COUNT and JOINTS.

NT + SQL server 7
NT + Oracle 8
NT + DB2

AIX + DB2
SUN + Oracle

Which one of the above will be the best bet? Cheapest solution?

I looked at the TPC-D results and figured that AIX +DB2 or SUN + Oracle are the best (at a cost). NT + SQL server scores well in TPC-C (NOT D) and that worries me.

Any suggestions/comments welcome.

Thanks in advance,
