The UPS's I have worked with have all been "Sola" brand. They actually cut all output when they detect that their internal batteries are too low. This would stop the SSAs and anything else connected to the protected output.
I'm sure the manufactures would be able to give you details of how the UPS you are looking at will behave when the battery gets too low. --
