Go to a command prompt and run chkdsk and read the "xxxx bytes in each allocation unit" line, this is the block size. 512 is the default, but it can be formatted to larger sizes. I just set up my system this week and formatted the data drives to 8192 bytes per allocation unit and set the Oracle block size to 8192.

There may be another way to get the NT block size, I am a newbie to NT. We are in the process of switching from HP9000/HPUX to Compaq/NT. Received on Wed Nov 04 1998 - 13:09:22 CST
