Help About Oracle8.1.3 Beta

hi,
we have some problems in configuring Oracle8.1.3. When we try to start up the service Oraclehome1listener and the service Oraclehome1ExtProcAgent. The first one starts but immediately shuts down, the second one does not even start (the error message is "The service is not responding to the control function"). Does anybody know where the problem could be? Thanks,
