Remove "Gateway Service for Netware" stops "OracleTNSListener" starting!

NT 4 server (sp3), oracle 7.3

TCP/IP, Netbios & IPX

I'm trying to remove the "Gateway Service for Netware" service & IPX protocol as I very rarely use it!

After removing this service & rebooting - connect using SQL Plus using "m/n_at_p300" on the command line! - doesn't work! - reprompts me for a user name/password - this time lets me in

If I reinstall the service - it works again!

What the hells going on! surely Oracle doesn't need IPX!

Any ideas?
