After the shutdown immediate, why did you start up and shutdown again?

stupid mistake.. please help.Received on Fri Oct 02 1998 - 16:06:27 CDT
below is the sequence of steps i took to shutdown the database.
1. Stopped the listener control.
2. svrmgrl > connect internal
Connected
3. svrmgrl > shutdown immediate
shuts down ok.
4. svrmgrl > startup
starts up ok as well -- (this is to do a normal shutdown)
5. svrmgrl > shutdownNow i should've waited to let it shutdown normal. but it took long so i CTRL-C
'ed it.Now if i try to shutdown or shutdown immediate, it sez that immediate shutdown
in progress, operations terminated. When I try to connect internal, i get
'connected to idle instance'. and if i try to startup I get 'already-running,
shut down first.'when i grep for oracle processes running, they are all running.
please help as soon as possible. thankyou.-----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==----------
